Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes is set to make his first appearance in the ongoing La Liga season.

The Brazilian youngster has missed the opening two games so far due to a muscle injury in his right leg as a result of an overload of the muscle.

He has now made Carlo Ancelotti's roster ahead of the clash against Espanyol at the Cornellà-El Prat stadium on Sunday.

For the most part of last season, Rodrygo was very much a squad player but ended up playing instrumental role in Madrid's run to the Champions League final.

And in his pre-match presser ahead of the clash against Espanyol, Ancelotti stated that Rodrygo would have more playing time this campaign.

“He will have a bigger role because the last year he made the difference in important matches and he will be a starter more often.”
“He will play on the right wing and he will be able to replace Vinicius on the left, even in place of Karim [Benzema]. Watch out for him in the role of Karim. He is very complete and it will be an important year for him.”

It's worth a mention that the experiment of playing Rodrygo as a no. 9 or a 'false nine' hasn't really paid off in the past.

Meanhwile, Rodrygo has waxed lyrical about how Cristiano Ronaldo made him fall in love with the club at a young age.
