  • Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe appear to be on the same wavelength when the duo linked up to score what will go down in history as the fastest goal in the French top-flight
  • News from the PSG camp throughout the course of the week has been inundated with a purported power struggle among the club's lead attackers - Neymar and Mbappe
  • It is the second time the duo have linked up to great effect this week after Messi assisted Mbappe in a similar instance during the club's training session before the Lille game

Paris Saint-Germain pair Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe combined to score the fastest goal in the history of the French Ligue 1.

The attacking pair combined to a devastating effect as Mbappe scored within eight seconds of PSG's league game against Lille at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy.

In a video posted on Twitter, seen by Sports Brief, Argentine playmaker Leo Messi launched a tailor-measured pass to the on-rushing Kylian Mbappe, who spotted the goalkeeper off his line before scoring a great goal by lobbing the ball into the yawning net.

How did Mbappe and Leo Messi combine to score the fastest goal in the Ligue 1?

Neymar kicked off proceedings, passing the ball to Verratti, who returned the ball to the Brazilian attacker who also released the ball to Messi.

The Argentine wasted no time on the ball as he spotted the run of Mbappe before setting him up with a perfectly timed ball.

Using his immense pace, the Frenchman allowed the ball to bounce once before slotting home via an intelligent lob.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that it appears tranquillity has found its place in the camp of Paris Saint-Germain following a series of reports suggesting power struggles between the club's prima donnas - Mbappe, Neymar and Messi.

News from France revealed a rapidly deteriorating relationship between the attacking trident, with reports indicating Neymar and Messi have joined forces to reduce the 'authority' of Mbappe in the dressing room.

But the latest video from a training session ahead of their weekend top liner against Lille, shows calm heads have prevailed at the club.
