The Sun also reported that Atletico are willing to offer Antoine Griezmann or Alvaro Morata to United in exchange for Ronaldo. United have been looking for a new striker and were also interested in signing Matheus Cunha from the Madrid club.

Ronaldo is eager to play for the Spanish side and previously approached Simeone, asking that he sign him.

Atletico Madrid’s fans are against the idea of Ronaldo playing for the club. Ronaldo previously played for rivals, Real Madrid. Fans even protested at the club’s pre-season friendly games to express their dissatisfaction with the idea.
