Unsettled Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly has an option of just two clubs that he can join should he depart the Premier League club.

Ronaldo is understood to have made it clear to United chiefs about his desire to quit the club this summer.

The veteran striker reportedly wants to join a Champions League club after the Red Devils missed out on a spot in the elite European competition.

While the 37-year-old had initially been linked with several clubs, some of them have come have come out to declare that they have no intention of securing his services.

Borussia Dortmund and Sporting Lisbon only options for Cristiano Ronaldo

With Ronaldo's options getting limited by the day, reports suggest that he has been left with just two options.

According to Sportskeeda, a move to Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund or a return to Sporting CP are the only two feasible options for the United star.

The publication adds that the veteran forward's agent Jorge Mendes continues to work around the clock to find a potential buyer for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.

Meanwhile, Dortmund have been touted as a viable option following the long-term illness suffered by summer signing Sebastian Haller.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that a member of Cristiano Ronaldo's family has once again reignited his exit from Manchester United this summer.

Rumours had been rife that Ronaldo had communicated his desire to leave the club. The Portuguese star skipped the preseason tour due to what the club called family issues.

He, however, reunited with the squad making his first appearance from the bench last weekend against Brighton. He then lasted the whole 90 minutes as Brentford tore apart his side.
