  • Gabriel Jesus broke his goal-scoring duck for Arsenal as the Gunners continued their purple patch to the start of the Premier League with a win over Leicester City
  • The 25-year-old Brazilian forward notched a brace and two assists as Arsenal recorded back-to-back victories
  • Jesus will hope his brace against Leicester will be a good omen ahead of Arsenal's next league encounter against Bournemouth

Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus opened his goal-scoring account for Arsenal in the Premier League with a peach of a goal in Arsenal's home game against Leicester City.

The 25-year-old forward ended his five-trophy-laden years with Manchester City when he completed a switch to Arsenal this summer and has since not looked back.

Jesus, who was in explosive form during pre-season - scoring seven goals in five games - did not get off the mark on his Premier League debut for the Gunners against Crystal Palace but it was only a matter of when and not how he will break his goalscoring duck.

How did Gabriel Jesus score his first goal for Arsenal?

In-from Xhaka teed off Jesus in the box and with a tree of legs scattered across the Leicester box, the Brazilian had a difficult task to engineer any move.

But out of his ingenuity and quick thinking, the Brazilian curled a beautiful effort to the top right corner of the post to get off the mark in style.

He will add his personal and Arsenal's second of the afternoon when he connected beautifully to a corner as Arsenal stretched their advantage over Leicester.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that new Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus is officially the most selected player in the history of the Fantasy Premier League game, with a whopping 72.5% of virtual managers placing him in their squads.

Jesus signed for Arsenal for £45 million from Manchester City and despite initially looking like a gamble, the Brazilian has exceeded expectations, at least in pre-season.

He has scored seven goals on tour including an impressive hat trick as Arsenal completely destroyed Sevilla 6-0 over the weekend.
