French outlet Foot Mercato, however reports that Leeds are strongly pushing to finalise a deal before the close of the transfer window.
Nothing is concluded just yet, as Leeds are still facing competition from their age-old foes United, who are making moves of their own.
United's technical director Darren Fletcher was at The Hawthorns on Monday to watch Sarr play against West Brom.
This is not the first time the Red Devils are expressing interest in the forward. Back in 2020, there was a similar push just as Sarr was settling in at Watford from Stade Rennais.
For Leeds, they are in pursuit of a forward who can double up as a winger after losing Raphinha to Barcelona.
One of the biggest challenges for the Peacocks is they will need to offload a player in order to facilitate Sarr’s transfer.
