  • Cristiano Ronaldo has been offered yet another way out of his Manchester United misery
  • The Portugal star is a target for Corinthians in the Brazil Serie A
  • He has only made one cameo appearance under Ten Hag, in the pre season friendly against Rayo Vallecano

The saga involving Cristiano Ronaldo has taken another interesting dynamic as the 37-year old has been offered the chance to sign for Brazilian outfit Corinthians.

Ronaldo made it clear he wanted to leave Manchester United to play for a club competing in the Champions League as the Red Devils could only manage a sixth-place finish last season.

He only recently made way back to United, featuring in the first half of a friendly game against Rayo Vallecano.

There is still a decent amount of time before the transfer window closes, and Ronaldo could still get his wish of leaving Old Trafford.

As reported by The Sun and Marca, Corinthians Duilio Monteiro Alves declared his ambition of wanting to snap up Ronaldo’s services.

Corinthians, based in Sao Paolo Brazil, is a massive club in South America and recently took up Willian from Arsenal as well as former Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Renato Augusto.

The club currently sits second in the Brazilian Serie A.

Speaking on Ulissescast, Alves said:

"It is true that I want to sign Cristiano Ronaldo. I have big dreams.”
"With everything that happens in football, I feel obliged to try for whatever is best for Corinthians.
"I don't know whether we will be able to get him. We haven't yet made an approach or sounded him out.
"I don't see why not."

United come up against Brighton and Hove Albion in their opening game of the season on Saturday, August 6 in a clash in which Ronaldo could feature in depending on how Ten Hag decides to set up his team.

As far as team news is concerned, United will certainly be without the in-form Anthony Martial for the game as the Frenchman has a hamstring strain.

"No club wants him"

Meanwhile, Sports Brief earlier reported of Jamie Carragher’s brutal comments on the Ronaldo situation.

Carragher insists United made a mistake in signing Ronaldo last summer, adding that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner is not the player he used to be.

"I always felt this situation would come, even if Ronaldo did great for you [Manchester United].” Carragher said.
