  • Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has revealed his primary objective is to win every single match as the 2022-23 Premier League campaign beckons
  • Haaland came under serious scrutiny for missing sitters in the Community Shield but the young striker has warned his hunger for goals continues unabated
  • The 22-year-old could make his Premier League debut on Sunday when Manchester City cross swords with West Ham this Sunday, August 7

Erling-Braut Haaland has aimed a thinly-veiled warning to his naysayers as the former Borussia Dortmund marksman insists his best is yet to come.

At the tender age of 22, the Norwegian forward scored a stunning 86 goals in just 89 matches across all competitions for the German side before his arrival in England.

He performed below par in the Community Shield, missing gilt-edge chances contrary to his usual efficient self as Manchester City stumbled to a 3-1 loss in the Premier League's traditional curtain-raiser.

"(I can improve) everything. If you think I'm good at one thing, I can always get better," he said.
"This is something I have to do. As a young player, playing for Pep Guardiola, playing for the best club in England, I have to keep developing and get better at a lot of things. That's what I like a lot about football, you can always develop, you can always get better at the game.
"Part of the game is to get out of your comfort zone which is something I've been doing and something I like because then you develop more as a human being as well.

Haaland also looked at forming a telepathic understanding with his teammates on the field as he aims to win every single game.

"The chemistry on the pitch with the other players is something that will come - I don't know if it will take weeks, months, but this is something we have to build on every single day in training. At this high level, you also understand the people around you - he is good at this, he is good at that, he loves to play the ball there.
"I'm a player that's hungry for goals, that gives 100 per cent, that wants to win every single game. They are simple things but also really important things."

Sergio Aguero insists Haaland will need time to

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero has warned that the club's new striker Erling Haaland will take time to get going in the English Premier League.

Haaland was below his expected best when he made his competitive debut for the club against Liverpool in the Community Shield.

The Norwegian striker was guilty of missing a chance with a gaping goal in front of him.
