The 33-year-old had sealed a £42.5million switch to Barcelona after ending his 8-year relationship with the Bundesliga heavyweights this summer.

On a personal level, the 33-year-old forward was twice voted league player of the year, was the league's leading scorer six times, twice received Europe's Golden Shoe, and in 2021 was crowned Ballon d'Or Striker of the Year.
