Newly-signed Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski has named former Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos as his toughest player he has ever faced.

Lewandowski sealed a move to Barcelona this summer, penning a 3-year contract thereby ending his 8-year relationship with Bayern Munich.

The Pole had forced a move away from the Bundesliga giants after handing in a transfer request following a falling out with the club’s hierarchy.

And speaking during an interview with ESPN, the 33-year-old was quizzed as to who was the toughest defender he had come up against throughout his illustrious career.

"Toughest defender I have faced? Sergio Ramos," Lewandowski said.

Robert Lewandowski has crossed swords with Real Madrid 8 times, netting 6 goals. Out of the six, the Poland captain registered five goals in the 2012/13 season when he played for Borussia Dortmund.

It is interesting to note however that Lewandowski has bagged only one goal his last five matches he has come up against Sergio Ramos.

Ramos left Madrid last summer to sign for PSG on a free transfer.

This season, Lewandowski will have to cope with David Alaba, Eder Militao and Antonio Rudiger this time when Barcelona cross swords with Real Madrid in the El Clasico.
