Cristiano Ronaldo’s desire to leave Manchester United is no secret.
The Portuguese superstar is desperate to secure UEFA Champions League football and has since offered his services to a host of clubs in Europe.
Barcelona, a club that have been very active in the current transfer window, surprisingly were not linked with a move for the Manchester United player, until now.
As reported by the Daily Mail, Barcelona president Joan Laporta was recently asked about Ronaldo and whether the Blaugrana did try to secure his services.

Laporta explained that they only wanted Robert Lewandowski and they got what they wanted.
'We have a very good relationship with Jorge Mendes (Ronaldo’s agent). I have known him for a long time. He is one of the best player agents. But in this case, we decided to go for Lewandowski and he was crucial to our success,” he said.
He added that stories about Ronaldo being linked with numerous clubs were common during the transfer period and there were always contradictory news about it.
While he refused to go into detail about whether they were interested in signing Ronaldo, he did praise the star.
Ronaldo has also been linked with La Liga side, Atletico Madrid, but Atleti’s fans are against the move.
Supporters recently displayed banners at their side’s pre-season friendly, saying that CR7 was not welcome at their club, Eurosport reported.
