  • A leaked document appeared to show the hefty fine list Steven Gerrard has imposed on Aston Villa players
  • If the list is anything to go by, players can be fined up to £500 for showing up late to training
  • The fine list mostly revolves around discipline and time management within the West Midlands club

An interesting list has leaked online appearing to show fines Aston Villa players will be subjected to next season if they breach Steven Gerrard’s rules.

Fines in professional football are quite normal as managers tend to enforce them to try bring order to the team.

Steven Gerrard has been in charge of the Villains since November 2021 and in less than a year, he has managed to transform the club, who were initially fighting relegation when he stepped in.

If a leaked photo is anything to go by, fans got a glimpse of what life was actually like for players under the authority of Gerrard at Villa.

The leaked fine list is split into two columns, with one representing an offence and the other showing the amount a player will part with for committing the offence.

Understandably, the most conspicuous fine was the first one which was a whopping £500 for showing up late to training.

It actually gets more bizarre as a player is eligible for a fine of up to £200 per for every minute he is late to the training pitch, for a team meeting or the coach to an away game.

Failing to arrive on time for a meeting, walk or coach on matchday will set the player back £1000 while being late for a commercial appearance will warrant a fine of £250.

The lengthy fine list also contains penalties for wearing the wrong attire (£200), while players are also encouraged to be neat as items found lying around could cost them £100.

Schmeichel poised to leave Leicester

In other news, Leicester City’s legendary goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel is set to exit the King Power Stadium after reportedly agreeing to join Ligue 1 side Nice.

A deal is however heavily dependent on whether Leicester can find his replacement on time

Brighton and Hove Albion goalkeeper Robert Sanchez is leading the line as a potential replacement for 35-year-old Schmeichel at Leicester.
