Former Nigerian international Godwin Okpara has warned Victor Osimhen not to allow fame into his head.

This is coming days after the 23-year-old got sent out of a Napoli training session by manager Luciano Spalletti after he clashed with a player.

It was gathered that Leo Ostigard had made a dangerous tackle on the youngster, who then expressed anger at such an attempt.

Spalletti was said to have intervened, and the manager had no choice but to tell the Nigerian forward to immediately “go take a shower.”

And in a chat with Nigerian outlet, former defender Godwin Okpara who played for the Super Eagles between 1991 and 2001, featuring in 18 games, cautioned the Napoli forward.

Okpara told the platform that Osimhen needs to tread carefully and should not think he is bigger than his country because several clubs are jostling for his signature.

Ikpeba cautions Osimhen

Meanwhile, Victor Ikpeba has told Osimhen to humble himself and try to emulate the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, who are playing for Liverpool.

Ikpeba, known as one of the best forwards in the world during his active playing time, was unhappy with Victor Osimhen's reaction to his comment over the bicycle kick against Ghana.

Victor Ikpeba worked as a pundit for the game, and the former Monaco star criticized Victor Osimhen, claiming the Napoli striker should not have attempted a bicycle kick in Abuja.

Napoli want €130million for Osimhen

Sports Brief earlier reported that the sporting director of Italian club Napoli, Cristiano Giuntoli, has informed interested clubs to offer €130million for striker Victor Osimhen.

The 23-year-old forward has attracted interest from quite a number of English Premier League clubs, as well as German outfit Bayern Munich.

After scoring 18 goals in 32 matches in all competitions last season, Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle United are some of the Premier League clubs linked with Osimhen.
