Reports claim that the five-time Ballon d'Or winner has already informed United chiefs about his desire to leave the club barely a year after he rejoined them from Juventus.

According to Sportskeeda, Ronaldo's desire to seek a move away stems from his urge to play in the Champions League next term.

Diogo Dalot wants Ronaldo to continue at Man United

However, Dalot has pleaded with Ronaldo to commit his future with the Red Devils beyond this summer.

Speaking to The Mirror, the Portuguese ace insisted that his fellow countryman is a key player for the club ahead of the new season.

"I think Cristiano is important for us. What we know is he is going through some family issues; we hope everything is okay, and that's how we do," Dalot said.

Despite United's underwhelming season last term, Ronaldo was the shining light for the club as he scored an eyewatering 24 goals across competitions.

The tally saw him finish as United's top scorer for the 2021/22 season.
