- Jose Mourinho’s Roma are highly interested in Georginio Wijnaldum, according to reports
- Roma would prefer a loan move for the 31-year-old Dutchman, who has been transfer-listed by PSG
- Wijnaldum has struggled since leaving Liverpool 12 months ago for PSG on a free transfer
Italian outfit AS Roma’s shopping spree this summer might not be over as they have now set their sights on Paris Saint Germain flop Gini Wijnaldum.
The Dutchman is reportedly among the string of Paris Saint Germain players who are seen as surplus to requirements at the club, despite only spending one season with the French giants since his move from Liverpool.
According to calciomercato.com, Jose Mourinho’s Roma are now overwhelming favourites to land the 31-year-old, who won the Premier League and Champions League during his time at Anfield.
The Giallorossi are reportedly considering bringing in Wijnaldum either on loan, with the option to buy.

Wijnaldum is estimated to be worth around €20 million.
One of the biggest obstacles in the deal is likely to be the 31-year-old’s wages, which are quite astronomical for Roma’s liking as he earns over €9 million in wages.
PSG are reportedly willing to cover half the wages, but the French giants would prefer to make the move to another club a permanent one.
In his 12 months at PSG, Wijnaldum made 38 appearances but was still labelled ‘flop of the year’ by French outlets.
His PSG side once again fell short in the Champions League, crashing out in the last 16, but somehow managed to win the Ligue 1 under Mauricio Pochettino.
