President of the Cameroon Football Federation, Samuel Eto'o, has congratulated the female national team after securing a place in the last of eight of the Women's Africa Cup of Nations.

Cameroon reached the quarter finals after beating Tunisia 2-0 in their final Group B game.

Eto'o took to social media to celebrate the achievement of the team as they set up a mouthwatering clash against record champions Nigeria.

Cameroon had a slow start to the competition after a goalless stalemate against Zambia and a 1-1 draw against the Hawks of Togo.

The Central African country will next face the Super Falcons of Nigeria on Thursday for a place in the semi-finals of the Women's Africa Cup of Nations.

South Africa star Thembi Kgatlana to miss the rest of WAFCON with injury

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Star Banyana Banyana striker Thembi Kgatlana will miss the rest of the 2022 Africa Women Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco.

She was carried off in a stretcher during South Africa's 1-0 victory against Botswana last night.

According to Kick Off, the 26-year-old Kgatlana stepped awkwardly during the second half, with this injury later confirmed to be a ruptured Achilles tendon.

Samuel Eto'o makes a U-turn after fiery rant at Cameroon players

Samuel Eto'o has made a U-turn on his post match rants following Cameroon's lackluster display against Burundi.

The five times African champions pipped Burundi 1-0 in their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Thursday.

However, the performance was far from the best as Eto'o went in hard at the Cameroon players in a video that has since gone viral.
