Manchester United midfielder, Fred has given his teammates the roadmap to be successful under new manager, Erik ten Hag when the 2022/23 football season commences.

The Dutchman has been saddled with the responsibility of making the Red Devils successful again after going trophyless since 2017.

According to Daily Mail, Fred has now urged his Man United teammates to get rid of any dressing-room cliques if the club is to rise again under Erik ten Hag.

“We have to be united. All aspects of last season were difficult which is hard. This season with a new manager, with new rules already, we'll look to unite and stick together as that's how our team must be.
“We have to be strong, and to be strong we have to be united. We hope we can be focused and strong. Erik can help us to continue being united. For some years now we haven't won any trophies.”

Manchester United are currently in Thailand for pre-season as the Red Devils aim to do better than they achieved last season, where they finished with their lowest points ever in the Premier League.

Manchester United verbally agree fee for second summer signing

Meanwhile, Manchester United have verbally agreed a fee with Barcelona for the signing of Frenkie de Jong from the Catalan giants, Caught Offside reports.

The Dutch midfielder has been Man United’s top transfer target, with the Red Devils on the negotiating table with Barcelona for months in a bid to seal the deal.

The Premier League giants have agreed a fee of £56m plus add-ons with Barcelona, with the deal set to be finalized before Friday, July 15, 2022.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Manchester United are to play rivals Liverpool in a pre-season friendly on Tuesday, July 12, at the Rajamangala Stadium in Thailand.

The match will see Erik ten Hag officially curtain-raise his United managerial career following his arrival from Ajax.

The Dutchman is yet to take charge of any match since his appointment as the Red Devils' permanent boss at the end of last season.
