Black Stars defender Alexander Djiku has reportedly arrived in Germany to complete his move to TSG Hoffenheim.

The 27-year-old Ghana defender will undergo medicals prior to signing a four-year deal with the Bundesliga side.

According to L'Equipe, the German club are paying a €6 million for the rock-solid Black Stars defender.

Alexander Djiku had an outstanding 2021/22 season, helping Strasbourg finish sixth in Ligue 1, with his acrobatic goal against AS Monaco voted Goal of the Season.

He was also phenomenal for the Black Stars as they edged Nigeria to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The French-born Ghanaian was voted Ghana's Player of the Year at the Ghana Football Awards held in Accra last Saturday.

His move to Hoffenheim is expected to be finalized this week.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that rock-solid Strasbourg defender Alexander Djiku has been crowned Ghana's Player of the Year at the Ghana Football Awards held in Accra on Saturday night.

The French-born Ghanaian beat off competition from Arsenal star Thomas Partey, newly-signed Charlton Athletic goalkeeper Jojo Wollacot, Southampton's Mohammed Salisu and Daniel Amartey of Leicester City.

In a video posted on social media, the 27-year-old expressed delight in winning the award, thanking his club and national team teammates.

Alexander Djiku close to joining Hoffenheim

Ghana defender Alexander Djiku has reportedly reached a verbal agreement to join German Bundesliga side TSG Hoffenheim.

Following his impressive campaign in the French Ligue 1 with Strasbourg, the Bundesliga club are set to sign the Black Stars center back.

According to Buli News, Strasbourg have accepted an offer from Hoffenheim for the 27-year-old central defender.
