Oliver Kahn who is Bayern Munich director has stated clearly that the German champions will not be going for the signature of Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.

For the past few days, Cristiano Ronaldo has been the major sporting headlines after telling Manchester United chiefs that he wants to leave Old Trafford.

Manchester United's inability to qualify for the Champions League for this season is believed to be the main reason Ronaldo wants to leave as the Portuguese does not want to play in the Europa League.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has however been linked with a move to Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and now even Barcelona.

According to the latest report in the UK Sun, Oliver Kahn explained that Bayern Munich are not interested in having Cristiano Ronaldo in their squad.

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how the president of FC Barcelona Joan Laporta confirmed that he had talks with Jorge Mendes who is the agent of wantaway Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo.

Agent Mendes expressed delight that the 37-year-old wants a move away from Old Trafford as quite a number of clubs are interested in the striker.

Ronaldo is said to be searching for Champions League action after United failed to qualify for the tournament, having finished sixth in the Premier League last season.

CR7 featured for rival club Real Madrid for nine years but could be making a blockbuster switch to join the La Liga rivals.

During the unveiling of Franck Kessie, Laporta admitted that he met with agent Jorge Mendes.

The Portuguese forward is currently on "indefinite leave" after failing to turn up for pre-season as expected on Monday due to "personal reasons".
