The 29-year-old is now back in England after the expiry of his loan spell with Flamengo as he ponders his future.

BBC Sport now claims that he is set to continue playing in the Premier League after United agreed to sell him to Fulham.

It is understood that the Cottagers who were recently promoted to the top flight will pay an initial £8m, with a further £2m to be paid in add-ons to acquire the services of the Man United star.

The transfer deal is said to be close to being finalised, with Pereira expected to pen a three-year deal with the Cottagers.

Man United want Arsenal flop to replace Ronaldo

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Manchester United have reportedly identified Serge Gnabry as the ideal replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo has been linked with a move away this summer, with reports claiming the five-time Ballon d'Or winner has asked United to let him depart.

Gnabry, on the other hand, is as well said to be looking to leave Bayern Munich after he turned down a new deal with the Bavarians.
