FootballSuper Eagles Star Unimpressed With How Nigeria’s National Football Team Is Being Handled

- The Super Eagles performed poorly at the 2021 AFCON tournament and also failed to qualify for the 2022 Fifa World Cup
- According to Onazi, players just stroll in and out of the national team during the time of ousted manager Gernot Rohr
Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi is clearly not impressed with the way the Nigerian national team is being run.
The former Lazio of Italy star stated that Nigeria needs to concentrate more on stabilising the national team following the not-too-impressive results in recent times.
Nigeria failed to go past the second round in the 2021 AFCON tournament and also failed to qualify for the World Cup, Own Goal reports.
According to Onazi, the Nigerian national team no longer has value as players just stroll in and out of the squad with little or no meaningful contribution.

In an interview shared by Oma Akatugba on Twitter, Onazi said:
“For me, I think as a nation and as a federation, we need to concentrate more on how to stabilize out team. As we speak now, the national team does not even have a structure.
“When Gernot Rohr was still in charge of the team, we don’t have a structure because you bring people to the national team today, you bring a different set of people tomorrow - and see different sets of people next tomorrow.
“The national team doesn’t have value. People just stroll to the national team and stroll out. We don’t have like…a symbol of a national team.”
