Four South African players are in the running for a top Confederation of African Football (CAF) award.
Bandile Shandu, Thembinkosi Lorch, Peter Shalulile and Percy Tau have all been nominated for the CAF Interclub Player of the Year award.
The Orlando Pirates duo of Shandu and Lorch played a vital role in the Buccaneers reaching the CAF Confederation Cup final. Sadly they lost to Morocco’s RS Berkane.
Peter Shalulile was in devastating form in front of goal for Mamelodi Sundowns this season and while Masandawana were dumped out in the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League, Shalulile was ever impressive.

Percy Tau on the other hand led Al Ahly to the CAF Champions League where they lost to Wydad AC, but the South African did notch up three goals during the tournament.
South Africa’s Mandla Ncikazi and Pitso Mosimane are also nominated in the Coach of the Year category while Orlando Pirates were nominated in the Team of the Year category.
The CAF Awards will be held on 21 July 2022 in Rabat, Morocco, Soccer Laduma confirmed.

Two South African coaches are in the running for a prestigious Confederation of African Football (CAF) award.
Former Al Ahly coach, Pitso Mosimane and Orlando Pirates’ assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi, have been nominated in the CAF Coach of the Year category.
Mosimane led the Red Devils to a CAF Champions League final while Ncikazi led Pirates, along with Fadlu Davids, to the CAF Confederation Cup final.
