Keanu Baccus Secures European Transfer to Scottish Premierships Side St Mirren Football Club

South African-born Keanu Baccus is heading to Scotland.

The midfielder, who was born in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, has signed a two-year deal with Scottish Premiership side, St Mirren FC.

The 24-year-old was raised in Australia and has represented the Socceroos at various age-group levels. He also played for Australia at the 2020 Olympic games.

He has been playing for his boyhood club Western Sydney Wanderers and is sad and excited at the prospect of his new challenge in Scotland, Kick Off reported.

"It's a little bit sad leaving my hometown, the family I've made at this club, and all the members and fans that have been great to me. The same goes for the coaches and coaching staff. It has been great," he said.

Baccus has played over 100 games for Wanderers. He is also the brother of former Kaizer Chiefs player, Kearyn Baccus.

Kearyn was released by the Amakhosi earlier this month as part of a mass clearout at the club, Sowetan LIVE reported.

Kaizer Chiefs have been busy in the transfer department and their signings have caught the eye of a former Amakhosi star.

Dominic Isaacs has shared his thoughts on the new signings and is pleased with what he sees.

Isaacs, who was a defender for the Glamour Boys, believes that the signings of Kamohelo Mahlatsi, Dillon Solomons, George Motlou, and Ashley Du Preez, in particular, have the potential of bringing back the glory days at the club.

Kaizer Chiefs announce mass clearout, Daniel Cardoso, Lee Baxter and Leonardo Castro are among those released

Kaizer Chiefs are in the process of a mass clearout at the Naturena. The Amakhosi announced on their social media pages that a host of players, and some technical staff, would be parting ways with the club.

Kearyn Baccus, Daniel Akpeyi, Leonardo Castro, Daniel Cardoso, Lebogang Manyama, Lazalous Kambole and Samir Nurković will all leave the club at the end of June.

The Amakhosi have also put Anthony Akumu Agay on the transfer list and parted ways with goalkeeper coach, Lee Baxter.
