Accra Hearts of Oak defender Larry Sumaila woke up on Monday with the FA Cup and his medal on his bed, reminiscent of Sadio Mane and his Senegalese teammates celebrations after their AFCON triumph.

Hearts of Oak successfully defended their FA Cup title after defeating Bechem United 2-1 at the Kumasi Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.

In a photo posted on social media, the versatile defender recreated images from the 2021 AFCON to celebrate his second FA Cup victory.

Sadio Mane and his Senegal teammates were spotted in bed with the AFCON trophy a day after beating Egypt in the final.

Larry Sumaila was an unused substitute as the Phobians defeated the Hunters, with Caleb Amankwah and Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, the goal scorers for Hearts of Oak.

The Ghanaian giants will now represent the country in Africa's second tier competition, the CAF Confederation Cup.
