An honorary president of the German side Bayern Munich, Uli Hoeness, has told Spanish club Barcelona not to waste their efforts in trying to sign Robert Lewandowski.
Bayern Munich want nothing less than €50 million for the Poland international, but they have continued to send negative messages over the striker’s potential departure.
Xavi’s men are interested in signing the striker ahead of next season, but Bayern rejected the initial offer from the Catalan giants.
In a sports congress in Neuland, Hoeness said via TribalFootball:

"I don't know anything about a new offer. But as things stand in Munich, what I have heard is that Barcelona should save themselves the effort of making another offer.”
Lewandowski has one more year left on his contract with the Bundesliga outfit and Hoeness says the club want the player to see it through. He added as per Marca:
"I don't make the decisions. But Bayern's words were clear. They said that Robert should honour his contract with Bayern Munich.
"I can't imagine that there is any amount of money that would make them change their mind."
Xavi meets Lewandowski in Ibiza
Meanwhile, Barcelona head coach Xavi Hernandez met with Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski at a restaurant in Ibiza on Wednesday.
