Royal AM will announce John Maduka’s successor next week.
The KwaZulu-Natal Club were originally due to announce a new coach yesterday, June 28, but will make the announcement on July 4 instead.
As reported by iDiski Times, former Lamontville Golden Arrows coach Khabo Zondo and Gavin Hunt are both in the running for the job.
The publication reported that Dan “Dance” Malesela, who has once mentioned a possible choice, is now out of the running.

FootballThe club have been without a coach ever since John Maduka handed in his resignation and took up the vacant post at Maritzburg United.
Maduka led the Thwili Thwala to a third-place finish in their maiden DStv Premiership season and took the club to the Nedbank Cup semi-finals. They also qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup. Royal AM’s qualification for the continental competition could also prove to be a stumbling block in why the club have yet to find a suitable coach.
CAF’s new rule states that any coach sitting on the bench during the continental competitions must hold a CAF A licence or Uefa Pro licence. Cape Town City are experiencing the same issue as their coach, Eric Tinkler, does not hold either license, Sunday World reported.

The former Thwili Thwala coach achieved great success with the KwaZulu-Natal outfit, leading them to third place in the DStv Premiership and a semi-final spot in the Nedbank Cup.
Maduka made headlines though when rumours did the rounds that he had handed in his resignation. The rumours were never confirmed by the club or Maduka himself until he was eventually unveiled as Maritzburg United manager.
