Jose Riveiro's appointment as Orlando Pirates coach was met with indifference, skepticism and hesitance.
The 45-year-old Spaniard was unveiled as the club's boss on Saturday afternoon, and will get to work for the Soweto giants on 01 July in a three-year deal.
According to Transfermarkt, his experience as a coach began as Celta Vigo Youth's manager in 2011. His career path has seen him move from FC Honka (Veikkausliiga, assistant manager), PK-35 (Ykkönen, assistant manager) HJK Helsinki (Veikkausliiga, assistant manager) and FC Inter Turku (Veikkausliiga, manager). He is yet to win a trophy in his managerial career.

South African football continues to react varyingly to the news that Spaniard Jose Riveiro will be Orlando Pirates' head coach next season.
As reported by Sports Brief, after parting ways with co-coach, Fadlu Davids, the club officially welcomed him as the new boss of the Buccaneers on a three-year deal last Saturday. The Spanish-born coach exclaimed that he is delighted to join the Soweto club and is looking forward to the challenge.
Riveiro became the club's 21st head coach since the start of 2000.
