Manchester United and Chelsea could go into a bidding war for Dutch defender, Matthijs De Ligt after the centre-back asked for a move away from Juventus.
The 22-year-old defender is said to be unhappy with the Old Lady over some clauses inserted in their latest contract offer, which has forced talks to break down between both parties.
Juve wants to extend De Ligt’s present deal to 2026 but has inserted a release clause of £98m into the deal which has angered the Dutch defender Daily Mail reports.

The former Ajax defender has now put English Premier League clubs, Manchester United and Chelsea who previously had indicated an interest in him, on red alert by asking for a move away from the Italian giants this summer.
Both Chelsea and Manchester United are in search of a center-back before the start of the 2022/23 season and could table a bid for Matthijs De Ligt, who joined Juventus on a 5-year contract in 2019 from Ajax.

Meanwhile, Juventus are unbothered over the contract situation of Matthijs de Ligt after the Dutch defender handed in a transfer request.
