Inter Milan defender, Robin Gosens has revealed Manchester United striker, Cristiano Ronaldo made him feel small after refusing to swap shirts with him after a Serie A game.
The German defender who played for Atalanta back then detailed the awkward exchange in his autobiography Dreams Are Worthwhile.
Gosens according to a report via Daily Star explained he had approached Ronaldo for an innocent shirt swap after a game but the 5-time Ballon d’Or winner abruptly rejected his request without even looking at him.
“After the final whistle I went to him… but Ronaldo did not accept. I asked: ‘Cristiano, can I have your shirt?’. He didn’t even look at me, he just said: ‘No!’.
“I was completely ashamed. I went away and felt small. You know that moment when something embarrassing happens and you look around to see if anyone noticed it? That’s what I felt and tried to hide it.”
Gosens and Ronaldo clashed for three seasons in the Italian Serie A when the Portuguese played for Juventus before sealing a move to Manchester United last summer.
