Liberia President, George Weah had supporters cheering loudly when he showcased his dancing skills during a rally over the weekend.

The former AC Milan striker took supporters by surprise when he stepped up to join the “Buga Challenge” made popular by Nigerian musician Kizz Daniel.

The 1995 Ballon d’Or winner took to the dancefloor with some of his CDC chieftains as supporters clapped and cheered him on as he appeared to be having fun.

George Weah is regarded as one of the greatest African players of all time and in 1995, he was named FIFA World Player of the Year and won the Ballon d'Or, becoming the first and to date only African player to win these awards.

The former Liberian captain as he played for some of the best clubs in Europe, including AC Milan, Monaco, and Manchester City, during his active days.

The 55-year-old was voted as Liberia’s president in 2018 after joining politics after retiring from football.

George Weah comes out of retirement to play for national team

Meanwhile, George Weah is not a stranger to doing the extraordinary since he was voted as Liberia’s President in 2018.

According to the Independent, Weah came out of retirement for a day as he laced his soccer boots again for the Liberian national team in an international competition in a friendly against Nigeria in 2018.

Liberia had arranged the friendly with the Super Eagles to retire the number 14 jersey made famous by Weah but fans were in for a shock when the former AC Milan star featured again for the national team 16 years after his retirement.

George Weah sends a strong message to Mohamed Salah

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have been warned by Liberian president George Weah not to put any unnecessary pressure on themselves for the Ballon d'Or award for this year.

Lionel Messi who currently plays for Paris Saint-Germain is the reigning holder of the Ballon d'Or award, having defeated the likes of Robert Lewandowski and Kylian Mbappe in the last award night.

Going by the performances so far this season for Liverpool, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah have both been tipped to fight for the Ballon d'Or award this season.
