Chelsea handed major boost in their pursuit to sign top Barcelona superstar
FootballRaheem Sterling: Chelsea Close In on First Signing Under Todd Boehly With Manchester City Star Ready to Join
- Chelsea look set to push through with Raheem Sterling's transfer with the Manchester City star valued at around 35 million euros
- Thomas Tuchel is understood to be convinced by the 27-year-old as he looks to bolster his ranks ahead of next season
- Sterling will most likely slot into the starting 11, spelling doom for the likes of Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi
New reports indicate that Chelsea are confident of pushing Raheem Sterling's transfer over the line.
Sterling has only one year left on his contract and is understood to be ready to quit Manchester City and move to London.
The England international seemingly has serious concerns about making it regularly to Pep Guardiola's squad with the arrivals of potent attackers in Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez.
With the World Cup on the horizon, Sterling will also look to boost his chances of being selected in the Gareth Southgate squad by playing regularly.
Thomas Tuchel's Chelsea appears to be offering just that with the club desperate to sign attackers. The wantaway Romelu Lukaku is expected to seal a loan move back to Inter Milan this week, paving way for the Sterling transfer.
Metro UK reports that Sterling could be worth 35 million euros. The winger is known for his pace, direct take-ons and dribbling skills. His finishing skills have been under sharp scrutiny but Tuchel believes he is the right man for his attack.
Chelsea target Ousmane Dembele indicates he intends to remain at Barcelona
Sports Brief had earlier reported that Ousmane Dembele has sent out a strong indication that he intends to stay at Barcelona past this summer. Negotiations had reportedly broken down between the two parties with Dembele rejecting Barcelona's latest offer.
Chelsea were seeking to take advantage of the situation and swoop in on the French international but in a new video spotted by Sports Brief, Dembele is seemingly ready to re-enter negotiations.
In the video, a fan asks Dembele whether he will be leaving the Catalans this summer to which Dembele replies, "I'm fine at Barcelona."
