Nigerian international John Ogu has shared a clip capturing the moment he took to the ‘wheels of steel’ to mix trending Nigerian songs.
The 34-year-old, who recently joined Israeli club Maccabi Jaffa, continued his off-season break and may be considering a side gig in ‘DJing’ according to the clip.
Ogu, who also had a stint with Hapoel Be’er Sheva was however, far from impressive as he appeared a little confused, scratching the decks off, Soccernet reports.
He featured for the Nigerian national team in 26 matches and scored a goal, but he did not enjoy call-ups under former Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr.
Having recently moved to Israel, Ogu has continued his career in spite of the long break he had as he tried to find a new club, spending the last few months at Hapoel Nof Hagalil before joining Maccabi Jaffa in May 2022.
In a Twitter post, he wrote; “DJ Ogu ti wa online”, but he’s still a bit off the mark. Perhaps the coming days hold more.

Ogu recounts his experience with the Nigerian police
Sports Brief earlier reported that Ogu has recounted his experience with a member of the Nigerian Police Force telling him that his gun is his mode of identification.
The three-time Israeli Premier League winner made the comment on his social media platform during the one-year remembrance of the innocent citizens murdered in cold blood in October 2020.
He said the uniformed man asked for his identification and he simply told him his name is the only ID he had, but the policeman was angered by his response, adding that he showed his gun as his mode of ID.
