A Rangers fan is regretting not telling the truth with regards to his love for his team.
Thomas Meikle lost his job after telling his employers that he was still overseas in Spain, when he in fact was back home in the Scottish capital of Glasgow. He had gone to witness the 'Gers lose the Europa League final on penalties to Eintracht Frankfurt, before returning for the Scottish FA Cup final that weekend to watch them defeat Heart of Midlothian 2-0.
According to SPORTBible, Meikle tweeted that the BBC Scotland crew covering the match focused on him and other Rangers fans celebrating the closing stages of extra time.
He said:
“Can’t believe my contracts getting terminated because I told my work I was still in Seville so I could go to the Scottish cup final…then I got put on the tele, busted. @BBCScotland absolute grasses.”
Apart from Europa League disappointment, Rangers finished the season second in the Scottish Premiership, six points behind their bitter rivals Celtic.

Getting to the Europa League final between Eintracht Frankfurt and Rangers in Seville or finding accommodation has proven to be an interesting experience for a group of separate 'The Gers' fans.
As reported by Sports Brief, in the first instance, six of them were thrown off a Seville-bound Ryanair plane. They are believed to have behaved rowdily as the aircraft was headed to the south of Europe.
They were mid-flight from Manchester to Faro in Portugal when things apparently kicked off.
