Zinedine Zidane’s agreement to join Paris Saint Germain are nothing more than unfounded rumors, according to the Frenchman’s advisor Alain Migliaccio.
Migliaccio released a statement via L’Équipe on Friday, June 10 to strongly deny reports that Zizou was on the verge of signing a contract with the French giants.
All these rumours that are circulating are unfounded," he said.
"To this day, I am the only person allowed to represent and advise Zinedine Zidane. Neither Zinedine Zidane nor myself have been contacted directly by the owner of PSG."
"I also strongly doubt that His Majesty the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamin Bin Hamad Al Thani, is used to going through social networks or the media to manage his affairs and make crucial decisions concerning the future of PSG. I'm not even sure he's really interested in Zinedine Zidane coming.”
Initial reports that Zidane had travelled to Qatar to seal the PSG deal were reported by Mundo Deportivo's Ramon Fuentes.
PSG and Zidane, a perfect marriage?
Quite frankly, it is not difficult to see why PSG would go for a coach like Zidane.
The fact that he has French roots works in the club’s favor, and the former Real Madrid midfielder has also proven to be a serial winner in his short spell in management.
During his spell as Real Madrid manager, he managed to win the La Liga twice and, more impressively, clinched the Champions League three times in a row from 2016 to 2018.
Pochettino’s stance
Meanwhile, Pochettino remains indifferent towards speculation that he is set to be sacked, with one year remaining on his current deal at the French club.
"I have another year left on my contract and there are lots of rumours. I've been sacked every week [according to the rumours/media], being at PSG brings with it that kind of thing," Pochettino told Catalan outlet Esport3.

The Frenchman’s contract at Barcelona is running out, and he is set to walk away from the Catalan giants for free.
