Athletic Bilbao forward Iñaki Williams could soon become a player of the Ghana national team, according to General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association, Prosper Harrison Addo.
The GFA scribe revealed that the process of switching nationalities has already begun but Williams can only play when FIFA clears him.
In an interview with Kessben FM, Prosper Harrison Addo explained other players including Eddie Nketiah, Tariq Lamptey and Callum Hudson-Odoi have all started the process.
"You know our style of doing things, we don’t talk much until everything is finalized we like to keep things on the low. Is a process, each person’s application is different. FIFA will be asking for different documents concerning every player, For some of the players, you will get through the process at once, but for some others too you will have to provide different documents," he said.
Iñaki Williams and his brother are in Ghana for the holidays following a long season in Spain with Athletic Club.
Despite stating in the past he feels more Spanish than Ghanaian, Williams seems to have changed his mind with the 2022 World Cup fast approaching.
The process is expected to be completed before September, and could play in the AFCON qualifiers against Angola before the trip to Qatar for the World Cup.
