Everton boss Frank Lampard has reportedly identified two Chelsea stars he wants to sign this summer to strengthen his squad.
The Toffees survived relegation last season by a whisker and now Lampard has his work cut out as he looks to improve his squad in preparation for next term.
According to Metro UK, the Merseyside club are facing a financial crisis after posting losses of £370million over the past three years.
As such, the publication claims, Everton will focus their attention on free agents and loan players this summer.
Frank Lampard plots raid on Chelsea for two youngsters
It is understood Lampard has set his sights on acquiring the services of a new central midfielder, with two Chelsea players in mind.
The Telegraph reports the Englishman has earmarked Conor Gallagher and Billy Gilmour for signing in the coming weeks.
Gallagher had a breakthrough season while on loan at Crystal Palace under Patrick Vieira, while Gilmour endured a difficult campaign at Norwich as he was unable to prevent the Canaries from getting relegated.
Despite Lampard's interest in the duo, it remains unclear if either player would be available for a transfer, loan or otherwise, with Thomas Tuchel set to assess all returning loan players before a decision is made.
