Atletico Madrid gave Luis Suárez a befitting send-off with a ceremony at the Wanda Metropolitano, honouring the Uruguayan for his services rendered to the Rojiblancos.
Luis Suárez, formerly of Liverpool and FC Barcelona, joined the Red and Whites two seasons ago and went on to help the club win their first La Liga title since 2014.
The enigmatic forward mustered 34 goals in 83 appearances for Atletico Madrid across two eventful seasons.
In photos posted on Twitter, sighted by Sports Brief, the 35-year-old Uruguayan marksman received an emotional tribute at the Wanda Metropolitano this Tuesday, June 7 in a ceremony that was attended by Atleti president, Enrique Cerezo, his family and club employees.
Suárez, who had earlier said his goodbye to the fans at the Wanda Metropolitano in the match against Sevilla, will be fondly remembered at the capital club for his important goals such as the match against Osasuna and in the game against Valladolid to give clinch the 2020-21 league title for the Rojiblancos.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Atletico Madrid fans bid Luis Suárez goodbye in a moving sendoff yesterday. The club had earlier confirmed that Suarez will be leaving at the end of the season.
Suárez joined Atletico Madrid two seasons ago from Barcelona. He found a new home with the capital club after former Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman asked him to leave.
He then crossed over to Atletico where he scored 21 goals in his debut season. The Diego Simeone side powered to the La Liga title for the first time since 2014.
