"Our dressing room sprayed with chemicals and we had to sit outside through the break," posted on Twitter by the female national football teams handle.

The girls had to be calmed by officials of the team as they looked intimidated by what was going on just moments before the game.

The Mafia in Morocco was real. Such a bad advert for women's football on the continent. From strange Covid test results, dressing room issues, gender tests to unfair officiating. The Black Maidens have suffered.

@garyalsmith added:

Ghana U17 girls lose to Morocco 4-2 on penalties after a lot of skullduggery. Unfortunately, Morocco is the most powerful football nation in Africa now and any protest will go nowhere. CAF will not bat an eye, lift a finger or make a whimper. Well played team Ghana.

@Blaqqkoffi posted:

Cited evidence some of our girls actually had multiple ages..some of the girls had their ages being tempted with..Morocco had real evidence and would have protested should they have lost..and that could have eventually seen Ghana been banned..everything happens for a reason

@julietbawuah tweeted:

Morocco had it in them to do dirty tricks with this game. Very unacceptable.
