Morocco will be partying through the night as Wydad Casablanca were crowned champions of Africa.

Wydad defeated Egypt’s Al Ahly 2-0 to claim their third continental title and send their home supporters into a frenzy.

Zouhair El Moutaraji scored both goals for the home side as they got the better of Pitso Mosimane’s men, Times LIVE reported.

The final proved to be an entertaining affair as Wydad dominated the first half and produced an excellent display of defensive football to keep the Egyptian side at bay.

Some fans described it as a great advert for African football, while others comment on the insane and intimidating atmosphere at the stadium.

Wydad played in front of their home fans who did more than just make their voices heard.

The noise was so deafening at times that referee Victor Gomes had to resort to hand signals to get his message across to players.

Barcelona star Ousman Dembele was also in the stands to watch the game, attracting a lot of attention on social media for his appearance at the game.

Wydad Casablanca crowned champions of Africa after victory against Egypt's Al Ahly in CAF Champions League

Wydad are champions of Africa. The Moroccan side beat Al Ahly 2-0 to claim their third continental title and deny Pitso Mosimane's side a third title in a row.

Wydad dominated the opening minutes of the final and came close to taking the lead as early as the 10th minute. Guy Mbenza rattled the crossbar.

Wydad, spurred on by a deafening crowd, took the lead thanks to a beautiful long-range effort in the 15th minute. Zouhair El Moutaraji unleased a vicious effort from well outside the box that beat Mohamed El Shanawy.

The battle to be crowned champions of Africa takes centre stage today when Al Ahly meets Wydad Casablanca in the CAF Champions League final.

The build-up to the match has been dominated by the news that the final will take place in Morocco, at the home stadium of Wydad.

Pitso Mosimane's side will be looking to make history as they compete in their third consecutive final, aiming to win their third straight continental title.
