Metro UK now reports that Chelsea, who exited the tournament in the last eight will be banking a significant windfall from Real Madrid's European glory.
According to the publication, the windfall originates from Eden Hazard's 2019 summer transfer to Santiago Bernabeu.
The Belgian playmaker sealed a dream move to the Bernabeu three years ago in a deal costing an initial £88.5m, but which included several add-ons that could take the full price to more than £130m.
The Blues are understood to have scooped nearly £20m when Hazard helped Real Madrid win La Liga and qualify for the Champions League in 2020, with The Sun claiming a similar sum will be heading to Stamford Bridge after Madrid’s Champions League success this season.
