FootballArsenal Add Another Manchester City Player to Transfer Wish List After Gabriel Jesus
- Arsenal are reportedly monitoring the situation of Manchester City left back Oleksandr Zinchenko
- Zinchenko is the second Man City player who has attracted interest from the North Londoners after Gabriel Jesus
- City are intent on signing Brighton left back Marc Cucurella, and this could pave way for Zinchenko’s exit
North London outfit Arsenal have set their sights on Manchester City left back Oleksandr Zinchenko as Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his side ahead of the new campaign.
The Gunners have already made it clear that they want to sign striker Gabriel Jesus, who is poised to leave the Etihad following the arrival of Erling Haaland and Argentina international Julian Alvarez
Jesus is also keen on leaving City and Arsenal is said to be his most preferred destination, especially with the impending exit of Alexandre Lacazette.
Daily Mail reports that Zinchenko is seen by Arsenal as the perfect versatile player, who can help strengthen the team’s midfield while also having the capability of playing in left-back if need be.
Under Guardiola, Zinchenko has mostly played as a left-back but when representing his country Ukraine, the 25-year old plays in midfield.
Mikel Arteta enjoyed a fairly good relationship with both Zinchenko and Jesus when he worked under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
The pair are also no strangers to league success, and after the dramatic final day of the season last Sunday, they have both secured four Premier League titles as Manchester City players.
While Jesus’ deal is likely to be fairly straightforward, Zinchenko’s move to Arsenal might prove to be a bit complicated.
This is especially true because the former FC Ufa man has always been keen to fight for his place under Pep Guardiola.
Arsenal targeting other strikers in Europe
Meanwhile, Jesus is not the only forward on Arsenal’s radar this summer.
Stunning fresh reports indicate that Arsenal are also willing to enter into talks with Juventus loanee Alvaro Morata, who does not mind a return to English top flight.
Tammy Abraham, who recently won the Europa Conference League with AS Roma, has also not ruled out a return to England, with Arsenal being his most likely destination.
