Ghana Defender Selected For Leicester City Player of the Season Award
- Black Stars defender Daniel Amartey has been elected for Leicester City Player of the Season award
- The Ghana international impressed as the Foxes finished eight and reached the last four of the Europa Conference League
- Amartey will compete with Jamie Vardy, James Maddison and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall for the award
Ghanaian defender Daniel Amartey has been nominated for the Leicester City player of the season award by BBC Radio Leicester's Owynn Palmer-Atkin.
The Black Stars centre-back excelled in the just ended campaign as the Foxes finished eight in the Premier League and made it to the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League, where they were kicked out by eventual champions AS Roma.
The four players were selected by Owynn Palmer-Atkin, who has been following the King Power outfit the entire season.
"With the huge injuries Leicester have suffered this season (particularly in defence), Amartey has risen to the demands of this side. He made 40 appearances in all competitions and moved himself above Caglar Soyuncu and Jannik Vestergaard in the pecking order. He’s been 'Mr Consistent' and become a strong backbone of this Foxes side this season," said Owynn Palmer-Atkin as quoted by the BBC.
Fans of Leicester City will vote to pick their best among the quartet.
