FootballJose Mourinho Sets Unprecedented Record After Europa Conference League Title Win With AS Roma
- Jose Mourinho has won the maiden edition of the Europa Conference League with Italian side AS Roma
- The Portuguese tactician who claims his fifth European title becomes the first manager to win the Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League
- He has now guided Roma to their first title in 14 years as it was also the club's first final in Europe after 31 years
Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho has set another unprecedented record in European football after guiding Italian side AS Roma to the Europa Conference League title.
It's been over 31 years since Roma’s last European final and 14 years since the club’s last trophy but Jose Mourinho has made history with them.
The 59-year-old tactician becomes the first manager to win the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League.
Mirror reports that the Portuguese coach had already won the Champions League with Porto and Inter Milan, as well as the Europa League with Manchester United in 2017.
He was already the first to reach the European finals with four different clubs and Roma's victory over Feyenoord now sees him in the history books.
And it was Nicolo Zaniolo who made the difference as AS Roma beat Feyenoord 1-0 to win the title on Wednesday night.
The Italian forward pounced on a lofted pass over the top of the defence from Gianluca Mancini to lob the ball past Justin Bijlow in the 32nd minute.
Feyenoord made several attempts to restore parity and they hit the woodwork twice but were so unlucky not to have dragged the game into extra time.
Social media went 'gaga' over Mourinho's feat yet again.
Football transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano wrote:
"He did it again. José Mourinho has won all five European finals he has competed in and he shows the number 5 with his hand."
Another replied:
Mourinho is the greatest manager of all time. Winning the Champions, Europa and Conference league ain't everyone's cup of tea.

Mourinho speaks as Tammy Abraham is linked with Arsenal move
Meanwhile, Sports Brief earlier reported that Mourinho has disclosed that he would not stop striker Tammy Abraham should the player decide to return to the English Premier League.
Abraham has been in scintillating form this season scoring 25 goals in 50 matches as he becomes the first-ever Roma player to achieve such a feat in their debut season.
Jose Mourinho is particularly confident that Abraham will stay in Italy beyond the current campaign, but said that he won’t stop Abraham should he choose a move to Arsenal.
