However, things did not go according to plan for the Frenchman as he endured a torrid spell with the Julen Lopetegui-tutored side.

The Sun reports the former Monaco star initially missed six games through injury and could only manage one goal during the miserable spell.

Anthony Martial sent back to Man United by Sevilla

It is understood Sevilla had an option of making Martial's deal permanent at the end of the season if he impressed.

However, the La Liga giants have rejected that chance and opted to send the forward back to Old Trafford.

Sevilla president Jose Castro has since confirmed the club has no interest in signing Martial permanently, citing the forward's struggles during the period he was at the club.

“Anthony Martial will return to Man United. We spent important money on him but it didn’t work," The Sun quoted Castro saying.
"Also, he had injuries and we’re not going to buy him on a permanent deal," he added.

Daily Mail reports that Sevilla paid 40 per cent of Martial's £240,000-a-week wages during the loan spell.

The France international made just 12 appearances across competitions, with nine of those coming in the La Liga.

David de Gea warn unsettled Man United stars

Earlier, Sports Brief reported David de Gea has sent a fiery warning to uncommitted Manchester United teammates following a disappointing 2021/22 season.

While De Gea did not pinpoint names in his spirited rant, it is no secret that the Theatre of Dreams will be marked with massive departures ahead of the summer transfer window

United were off the mark this term as they wound up their campaign with a humiliating defeat at Crystal Palace on Sunday, May 22.
