Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah has revealed that he hopes to be fit for the Champions League final.

The star forward picked a groin injury during his side's FA Cup final meeting with Chelsea at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, May 14.

According to Metro UK, Salah broke down with a groin problem before half-time, with Diogo Jota taking his place to see out the rest of the match.

The striker's injury caused a massive scare among Liverpool fans as it came during one of the most critical times of the club's season.

The Reds are still firmly in the Premier League title race and will be challenging for the Champions League when they face Real Madrid in the final.

However, Salah has moved to calm the nerves among Liverpool fans after he revealed he will be fit for the mouthwatering clash against Real Madrid.

"Of course, all good," Salah declared when asked if he will be fit for the European encounter.

While discussing the Egyptian's injury and that of Virgil van Dijk, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp revealed the two are "kind of okay."

"I don’t think they would have been ready for Tuesday anyway! But I think they are alright, it was more of a precaution," he noted.

Liverpool sees off Chelsea to lift the FA Cup

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Liverpool kept alive their hopes for an unlikely quadruple as they beat Chelsea via a penalty shootout to win the FA Cup.

It was almost identical scenes to the Carabao Cup on Saturday, May 14 as Liverpool edged their age-old rivals in a thrilling shootout after a goalless 120 minutes.

Mason Mount missed the decisive penalty as the shootout was forced into sudden death after both sides were level after the initial five penalties.
