  • Arsenal are desperate in bolstering their squad ahead of the coming season but they are also planning to offload some players
  • No fewer than nine players have been identified to leave the club this summer as they hope to sign Tammy Abraham and some other new players
  • The Gunners are set to do business during the summer transfer window as £150million have been earmarked for the purpose

Following the conclusion of the season and failure to secure a Champions League spot, Arsenal are looking to raise at least £60million from the sale of a number of first-team players.

Desperate to bolster their squad ahead of next season, the Gunners are ready to cough up £150million this summer to sign fresh players to the team.

According to SunSport, the sale of Matteo Guendouzi and Konstantinos Mavropanos has already generated £12.5million as the players leave for Marseille and Stuttgart respectively.

They will now look to negotiate further cut-price deals for Hector Bellerin, Lucas Torreira, Bernd Leno, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Pablo Mari.

It was gathered that manager Mikel Arteta understands the demands of the coming season as they will be playing in the Europa League.

Respective contracts of Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah will lapse at the end of the month and they are expected to leave, while Mohamed Elneny recently signed a new one-year deal.

Now, Arsenal currently have just 16 senior outfield players on their books and on-loan players like William Saliba and Reiss Nelson could return to boost the figure.

Further reports say Mikel Arteta is desperate in signing a number of quality players including Tammy Abraham another quality striker, Mirror reports.

Tammy Abraham sets a unique record in Serie A

Meanwhile, Tammy Abraham set a unique record on Friday, May 20 as he became the highest-scoring Englishman in the history of the Italian Serie A.

The striker, who only joined AS Roma last summer, was on target twice for his side as they saw off Torino 3-0 in their final league game of the season.

His two goals were his 16th and 17th of the campaign, placing him ahead of Gerry Hitchens, who previously held the record for decades after recording 16 goals for Inter Milan in 1961-62.

Mourinho reacts to Tammy Abraham’s potential move to Arsenal

Sports Brief earlier reported that AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho has disclosed that he would not stop striker Tammy Abraham should the player decide to return to the English Premier League.

Abraham has been in scintillating form this season scoring 25 goals in 50 matches as he becomes the first-ever Roma player to achieve such a feat in their debut season.

The England international found the back of the net when he headed home in the 11th minute against Leicester City to book Roma their place in the Europa Conference League final.
