Another forgotten legend falls
Before his death, Amakana was living a humble life in Mwiki, only making cameo appearances in small tournaments and interviews.
In 2020, some Twitter users attempted to highlight his plight, but their messages failed to gain any traction.
In his prime, the defender served as Harambee Stars captain and played for some notable clubs in the Kenya Premier League, including Tusker, Thika United, AFC Leopards and Mahakama.
Several Kenyans who mourned him online remembered him as a player who had incredible ability to strike the ball.
