  • Antonio Rudiger will be leaving Chelsea at the end of the season after failing to sign a new contract with the Blues
  • The Germany international had an interesting story to share about his soon-to-be former teammate N'Golo Kanté
  • Rudiger is fascinated by the level of humility exhibited by the World Cup winner and describes him as the nicest person ever

Antonio Rudiger has no words to describe soon-to-be former teammate N'Golo Kanté as he leaves Chelsea after the last game of the season against relegated Watford.

The Germany international failed to sign a new contract with the Blues as he heads to Spain to join Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.

However, in the latest edition of The Players' Tribune Dear Chelsea, the former AS Roma star opened up on his relationship with N’Golo Kanté.

"I want to talk about the Champions League final. But for you to understand, I have to tell a quick story about one of the nicest guys in football. I am speaking, of course, about N’Golo Kanté," he started.
"Before I came to Chelsea, I had heard all the beautiful stories about him. They said he is always smiling. They said he still drives an old Mini Cooper. They said he never raises his voice. But you know how it goes in football, right? No one is really like that. There is too much pressure, too much disappointment. We are all human. No one is that cool all the time. It’s impossible.
"Then I met N’Golo.
"Everything I said to this guy, he would just look at me and nod his head, like he thought everything I said was really interesting. And he would do this thing … I don’t really know how to explain it on paper. You have to hear it. Every time I’m talking, he would go *click, click, click* with his mouth."

Rudiger spent five season at Chelsea, winning several trophies including the UEFA Champions League and the Club World Cup.

Antonio Rudiger speaks about his 'no nonsense' style of play

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Antonio Rudiger has provided insight into his playing style, which has been described as 'no nonsense', earning the moniker Rambo.

The hard-tackling German defender has built a reputation for himself as defender most forwards would not want to meet in one-on-one duels.

His style of play has sharply divided opinions, however, Rudiger, who is heading to Spanish giants Real Madrid following the expiration of his deal with Chelsea, has shed light on how he gained that feisty aspect of his game.
