  • Everton fans had an extra-ordinary night on Thursday after confirming their place in the Premier League for next season
  • Crystal Palace were ahead 2-0 at the break but the Toffees produced a spectacular comeback to win the tie 3-2
  • The crowd stormed onto the pitch right after the full-time whistle as they sang and celebrated with the whole team

Thousands of fans raced onto the pitch at full time after Everton produced a sensational comeback win over Crystal Palace to guarantee themselves Premier League football next season.

Palace stunned the entire Goodison Park as it was the visitors leading 2-0 at halftime while Burnley were defeating Aston Villa in the Midlands.

If it had ended that way, it means Frank Lampard’s side would need to do it the hard way on the final day when they travel to the Emirates to face Arsenal.

The Toffees were able to produce a staggering comeback in the second half and also created history with their first-ever victory in the Premier League coming from two-nil down.

SPORTbible reports that excited fans stormed onto the pitch as soon as the referee sounded the final whistle as they covered the pitch singing and celebrating along with the players and Frank Lampard.

The fans were being celebrated for keeping the club up, with their home form the only thing that kept them above the drop zone in recent months.

Patrick Vieira was involved in a bust-up with an Everton fan

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira appeared to kick out at a supporter who looked to be goading him amid a pitch invasion by Everton fans on Thursday night.

In a video posted on Twitter, spotted by Sports Brief, a supporter seemingly holding up a phone could be seen extending his arms toward the Vieira's face as he tried to leave the field.

The former Arsenal captain initially ignored the fan but then turned around and grabbed him before aiming a kick at the supporter’s leg which knocked him to the ground.

Chelsea seal the third position in Premier League

Sports Brief earlier reported that Leicester City held Chelsea to a 1-1 draw at the Stamford Bridge on Thursday night as the Blues confirm their third position in this season's English Premier League.

The Foxes stunned the entire stadium in the 6th minute after Maddison had put the visitors ahead to set up a tantalizing encounter.

Marcos Alonso however smashed the ball home to level the scores in the 34th minute as the Blues responded in spectacular fashion to seal third spot position.
