Kevin De Bruyne was previously asked who he could choose as a teammate between the two. The Manchester City star outrightly mentioned Ronaldo.

In an interview with Wow Hydrate, De Bruyne mentioned that he would rather have Ronaldo because he is a striker.

I would probably say Ronaldo because he’s more of a typical striker. Messi is still more of a playmaker. I am a playmaker, you can give me a striker.

Ronaldo has over the years switched his position from a winger to center forward position. His goal returns have been splendid in both positions. He now plays as a full-time striker as he sees out his impressive career at Al-Nassr.

Messi meanwhile has been used in all sorts of positions including a false 9 by Pep Guardiola during the historic 2009 Barcelona season. At Paris Saint Germain, he has often dropped deep to accommodate Kylian Mbappe and Neymar Jr.

This is not the first time De Bruyne has been put on the spot. Sports Brief previously reported that the Belgian explained that he will choose Eden Hazard over David Silva.

De Bruyne was put on the spot to choose between who of the two great players he’d rather have. He played with David Silva for over four seasons at Manchester City, forming a wonderful midfield partnership.

He has also played, and continues to play, with Eden Hazard at the international level in Belgium colors.
